Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicines are two parts of the complete system of Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to acupuncture theory, there are fourteen major meridians or channels in the body. "Chi" or energy normally flows through these channels. Acupuncture points are stimulated to influence flow of chi through the body.

Acupuncture can be effective for pain relief, immune regulation, stress relief and can be a part of a preventive medicine program. It can be used to treat many conditions in animals--such as arthritis, urinary problems, asthma, allergies and gastrointestinal problems. Herbal medicines are often used to enhance the effects of acupuncture. Acupuncture can be used with conventional (Western) medicine.

Madison Cat Clinic, Inc. offers Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as a complementary medical practice.
